PA & PA-C

One place for didactic year, rotations and the PANCE

Alma is an AI study platform for physician assistants. End-of-rotation exams and the PANCE draw on what your didactic year covered. Keep it all in one notebook that grows through both, instead of starting over every rotation.

  • PANRE
  • EOR exams

Where to start

Your first week, if you're a PA student

Quizzes follow the style of the PANCE or the PANRE, whichever is on your profile. For end-of-rotation exams, quizzes come from the readings and slides you upload.

  1. Upload didactic slides or this rotation's reading list

Set the PANCE on your profile first. Take a quiz and read the report to see what to revisit before your end-of-rotation exam.

  2. Add your rotations and their exams

In Exams & rotations, import the calendar your program sends (a spreadsheet or calendar file) and mark each rotation as ending with its exam. With two or more exams, that exam gets twice the share of the day while the rotation runs.

  3. Give your decks an exam date

In Flashcards, set a deck's exam date and turn on Exam Mode. Its cards come back before your end-of-rotation exam.

Learning Hub

Upload what you were taught. Practise on it.

The PANCE covers a lot and rotations are short. Upload your didactic-year slides or a rotation's reading list and take a PANCE-style quiz. The report lists what to revisit before your end-of-rotation exam. Quiz Untested Areas covers what you skipped.

The Notebook with a note on the coagulation cascade and a generated illustration

    Notebook

Notes you can write fast, and then actually use.

Didactic year and rotations use the same knowledge, so keep one notebook through both. The pharmacology from the fall is still there, and searchable, when it comes up again on your surgery rotation.

      Flashcards

Flashcards that come back when you're about to forget them.

Give a deck its own exam date and turn on Exam Mode, and cards come back before your end-of-rotation exam. Decks nest, so didactic year and each rotation can be sub-decks of one parent, and the parent studies them all together.

        Practice Patients

Rehearse the encounter before it is graded.

End-of-rotation exams and the PANCE both reward a structured approach. Pick the presentation you're on this month, say emergency or clinic, and run stations on it until the sequence from history to plan is automatic.

Ask a question. Get an answer with its sources.

A guideline question comes up on rounds. Ask it in your own words and you get an answer with references. Save the useful part in your notebook, and Alma will find it next time you ask.

Import the rotation calendar your program sends, as a spreadsheet or calendar file. Add each end-of-rotation exam as an exam its rotation ends with. The PANCE Quick start gives you an eight-week plan, and you can add the PANRE later.

                      Common questions

                      How does Alma work?

You bring the material your program actually assigned: lecture slides, course readings, your own notes. Alma turns it into practice questions, flashcards on a spaced-repetition schedule, mind maps, a knowledge graph and simulated patients. Every question comes from your own material.

Where do the questions come from?

From whatever you upload: a lecture PDF, a set of slides, a guideline or your own notes. The questions follow the style of the exam on your profile, and each one explains the correct option and every wrong one.

                      Which exams does Alma cover?

Exams covered for physician assistants: PANCE, PANRE, EOR exams. Every audience gets the same tools. The exam on your profile decides how the questions are written.

                      Is there a free trial?

Yes. Every individual plan starts with a one-week free trial. You are not charged if you cancel before it ends.

Is my material used to train AI models?

No. Your notes, uploads, questions and queries are not used to train, fine-tune or improve any AI model, ours or a third party's.
